WatsonOnline Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy.
We value your business and respect your privacy. We want you to be secure
in the knowledge that information you disclose is used for the purpose
for which it was collected and not used or disclosed in a manner inconsistent
with your expectations. Having a relationship founded on trust with our
subscribers is not only good manners, but also good business.
What information do we collect? How do we use Customer Information?
We collect basic customer information from you that enables us to provide
our services to you. When you sign up for WatsonOnline High Speed Internet
Service, you are required to provide your name, address, telephone number(s),
and other relevant billing information. That information is used by WatsonOnline
and its authorized employees and agents to install, maintain and bill our
services.
We may also collect and maintain information about you that enables us
to provide a more personalized online experience, such as your locale and
the preferences you indicate with respect to service options.
We may use your e-mail address to communicate with you about our service,
including information about pricing and changes in or additions to our
services and policies, and to otherwise correspond with you.
When purchasing goods and services online, we encourage you to check the
privacy policies of any online vendor you use.
WatsonOnline will release personal information to the government only as
required by law. We will take commercially reasonable steps to protect
your personal information though we may be compelled to reveal such details
to law enforcement officials in response to a properly issued court order
or legal process in accordance with applicable law.
What WatsonOnline will NOT do with information about you.
We will not read your outgoing or incoming e-mail, private chat or instant
messages. We store mail messages on our computer systems for a brief period
of time and could be compelled to disclose the messages along with personally
identifiable information to comply with a valid court order or if we believe
that a state of emergency exists where it is necessary to disclose the
information to protect WatsonOnline’s property or an individual’s
safety or security.
WatsonOnline will not disclose or sell your name and/or email address to
any third party vendor or company.
WatsonOnline will not record any information that you provide to any website
other than ones operated by us. You should be warned, however, that our
privacy policy does not apply to web sites operated by others. You should
check each website’s privacy policy and use appropriate discretion
regarding any information you provide there. Our role in guiding you to
web sites is similar to that of an airline’s role in helping you
travel to distant cities. We can help you get there quickly and safely,
but once you are there, we can’t protect you or keep you out of trouble.
Participation in Forums and Public Chat Sessions.
Public message boards and chat rooms are by definition not private. Posting
to a public area is like making a statement in an open meeting. You should
only post information in these places that you are comfortable sharing
with the world. We strongly encourage adult supervision of anyone underage
that might post to a message board or chat room.
